Zur Sicherung einer österreichweit einheitlichen Ausbildungsqualität wurde die GÖG vom Bundesministerium für Arbeit, Soziales, Gesundheit und Konsumentenschutz im Jahr 2017 beauftragt, Curricula für die Ausbildungen in Pflegefachassistenz und Pflegeassistenz auf Basis der neuen Ausbildungsverordnung zu erarbeiten. Im Sinne der Qualitätssicherung und der Akzeptanz der Curricula erfolgte der Entwicklungsprozess unter Einbeziehung der Perspektivenvielfalt von Expertinnen und Experten sowie relevanten Stakeholdern. Mit den nun zur Erprobung vorliegenden Curricula wurde versucht, eine zeitgemäße, den beruflichen Anforderungen entsprechende, innovative Ausbildung in Pflegeassistenz und Pflegefachassistenz zu schaffen. Die Curricula sind ergebnis- bzw. kompetenzorientiert, handlungsorientiert und fächerintegriert gestaltet sowie spiralig, praxisintegriert und gestuft aufgebaut. Mithilfe der Lernfeldstrukturierung soll exemplarisches und praxisnahes Lernen ermöglicht werden.
