  "abstract" : [ "2010 wurde Ralf Witthaus mit der Bundesrasenschau einer breiten Öffentlichkeit bekannt. Nun, 2012, startet er durch mit seinem ersten internationalen Projekt im Rahmen des Kunstformates “Die Internationale Rasenschau”. Als kleiner Junge, wie so viele andere kleine Jungen auch, stellt Ralf Witthaus seinem Vater die Frage: “Wenn ich ein Loch in die Erde bohre, wo komme ich aus?” Die Antwort war Neuseeland. Diese Kindheitserinnerung nimmt der Künstler nun zum Anlass für seine erste Rasenmäherzeichnung innerhalb des Kunstformates “Die Internationale Rasenschau”. Witthaus startet das Projekt im Juli mit einem Aufruf an alle OWLer, ihm den schönsten Platz zu nennen, wo er nach Neuseeland “bohren” kann. Dabei – ganz zeitgemäß – setzt Witthaus auf Facebook und Vorschläge können über die Fanpage des Martha Herford eingereicht werden. Innerhalb dieses “Bohrlochs” entsteht ein Spiegelbild vom anderen Ende der Welt. Und im “Ausgangsbohrloch” in Neuseeland entsteht die entsprechende Spiegelzeichnung. „Im Rahmen der 2013 beginnenden Ausstellung Nutzflächen – OWL3 im Herforder Marta-Herford-Museum beschäftigte Witthaus nun eine Frage: Wie sieht es eigentlich am anderen Ende der Welt aus? Um diese Frage zu klären, rief der Rasenkünstler die Internationale Rasenschau ins Leben. Nur wenige Kilometer entfernt von Bad Oeynhausen (Nordrhein-Westfalen), dem Geburtsort von Witthaus, verwandelte er die Wiesenfläche eines kleinen Bauernhofs in ein Bohrloch nach Neuseeland. In Neuseeland wiederum schuf er Anfang Oktober 2012 ebenfalls ein Bohrloch – nur eben eines ins beschauliche Ostwestfalen. Zwei kreisrunde Zeichnungen mit 92 Metern Durchmesser sollen am Ende des Projektes die Welt auf der jeweils anderen Seite spiegeln.
