  "abstract" : [ "Den realistischen Maler Wilhelm Leibl vereint mit dem berühmten Fotografen der Neuen Sachlichkeit August Sander ein ausgeprägtes Interesse für die Darstellung des Menschen. Ihre Porträtkunst trifft nun aufeinander und offenbart dabei überraschende Parallelen, denen erstmals nachgespürt wird. Der Maler Wilhelm Leibl (1844–1900) stammte aus Köln, der Fotograf August Sander (1876–1964) wurde dort berühmt. Obwohl sich ihre Lebensspannen um ein Vierteljahrhundert überschnitten, sind sich die beiden großen Künstler wohl nie begegnet. Doch nun entsteht ein packender Dialog zwischen den beiden herausragenden Meistern des Menschenbildes, der um die Themen Söhne und Väter, Archetypen, Künstlerköpfe, Melancholia, Zuverisicht, Posieren, Innenwelten, Außenwelten und Detailaufnahmen kreist. Hervorragende Kenner führen in das Schaffen von Leibl und Sander ein, das sich auf vielfältige Weise berührt und kreuzt.
