  "abstract" : [ "Abstract: Das Problem der Innovationsfähigkeit der deutschen Wirtschaft hat Abelshauser gut auf den Punkt gebracht: \"Innovationen fallen nicht wie Manna vom Himmel\" (ders. 2004, 64; vgl. auch die Beiträge in Gerlach/Ziegler 2007). Vielmehr betont er zu Recht, dass es um innovationsorientierte Denk- und Handlungsweisen geht, die sich in einem institutionellen Rahmen bzw. einem spezifischen sozialen Produktionssystem niederschlagen. Genau an diesem Punkt stellt sich die Frage, wie das gegenwärtige Produktionssystem die Fähigkeit entfalten kann, sich neuen, dynamischen (Vorreiter-)Märkten anzupassen. Initiiert durch den wirtschaftlichen Strukturwandel werden in Zukunft immer mehr hochqualitative, auf die Kundenwünsche zugeschnittene Produkte, eingebettet in eine Fülle von Dienstleistungsangeboten, zu einem Charakteristikum der deutschen Wirtschaft werden und dies gilt explizit auch für das Ruhrgebiet. Innovative und wachstumsstarke Standorte zeichnen sich durch ein enges Zusammenspiel von Wirtschaft, Wissenschaft und Politik und die Konzentration auf eigene regionale Kompetenzen aus." ],
