Dabei kennt die Baubranche moderne Materialien, insbesondere Beton-, Eisenbeton- oder Stahlbeton sowie die Verwendung von Stahl, aber auch von Kunststoffen - man denke an den Werkstoff Bakelit - schon seit dem 19. Jahrhundert; mal abgesehen davon, dass \"Beton\" schon bei den Römern bekannt war.
