Unterstützung, die soziale Aufwärtsmobilität ermöglicht, ist dagegen seltener. Einen Beitrag zum sozialen Aufstieg leistet vor allem die Arbeit niedrigschwellig handelnder Institutionen. Kontakte zu ressourcenstärkeren Haushalten fördern nicht automatisch die sozialen Aufstiegschancen ressourcenschwächerer Bewohner_innen. Diese werden stärker von Personen der gleichen sozialen Lage und/oder ethnisch-kulturellen Herkunft beeinflusst, weil deren Unterstützung in bestimmten Situationen passgenauer ist. Die unmittelbare Wohnumgebung hat eine große Bedeutung. Hilfestellungen werden hier auch außerhalb fester Netzwerke vermittelt" ],
