  "abstract" : [ "Die von den Kölner Erzbischöfen und ihren Vertretern auf Synoden oder in deren zeitlicher Nähe veröffentlichten Statuten vermittelten den Klerikern und Laien ihrer Diözese die von den Päpsten und allgemeinen Konzilien erlassenen kanonischen Vorschriften in einer ihrem Verständnishorizont und den regionalen Gegebenheiten angepassten Form.So enthalten die Synodalstatuten neben den aus den Dekretalen und Kanones geschöpften Bestimmungen auch Anordnungen zu speziellen Problemen und Anliegen der Kölner Kirche wie etwa dem Dombau, den Wirren in Pestzeiten oder dem Auftreten sektiererischer Gruppen. Zu diesem Sondergut gehören auch in die Statuten inserierte, ihre Bestimmungen ergänzende Privilegien, Mandate und Urkunden verschiedenen Inhalts. Die vorliegende Edition beruht auf der Auswertung aller bekannten Statutenhandschriften und einschlägigen Frühdrucke. Die Texte folgen mit Verzeichnung der Varianten der jeweils zuverlässigsten Überlieferung. Die Edition geht daher,was Inhalt und Textkritik anbelangt, weit über alle bislang erschienenen Drucke der Kölner Synodalstatuten hinaus und bietet ihrer Benutzung und Erforschung eine neue Grundlage." ],
