Sowohl im heutigen Städtebau als auch in der heutigen Architektur zeigt sich dieser Steigerungszwang in Form von profitorientierten und wenig individuellen Produkten. Resonante Räume, wie sie beispielsweise in historischen Städten aufzufinden sind, werden mit einer zunehmenden Verdichtung geschwächt. Aufgrund von wenigen neu entwickelten, resonanten Räumen in der Stadt, besteht die Möglichkeit einer steigenden Raumamnesie. Dieses Buches nimmt sich experimentell dieser Resonanzen und Räumlichkeiten an, die zunehmend in Vergessenheit geraten. Die Autorinnen untersuchen mit praktischen, experimentellen RaumauseinanderSetzungen, ob Räume in der heutigen Gesellschaft noch ungeachtet ihrer Raumverbindlichkeiten wahrgenommen werden können oder ob diese Fähigkeit durch zunehmende Beschleunigung bereits verloren gegangen ist. Zudem wird die Wahrnehmung von Zwischenräumen hinterfragt. Zwischenräume, die als Übergangszonen Räume miteinander verbinden und als eine Art Schwellenbereich dienen. Dabei steht die heutige räumliche Denkweise im Zentrum der Untersuchung. Es wird erörtert, ob sie zur Entschleunigung der Gesellschaft beiträgt und somit resonante Situationen fördern kann.
