  "abstract" : [ "Als das Bundesministerium der Justiz 1949 seine Arbeit aufnahm, kam es zu ganz erheblichen personellen und politischen Verflechtungen mit dem \"Dritten Reich“. Dass Juristen, die eine stark belastete NS-Vergangenheit hatten, in der Behörde Dienst taten, wurde nicht als problematisch empfunden. Dieses grundlegende Werk zeigt, wer alles im Ministerium unterkam und welchen Einfluss das auf die Rechtspraxis hatte – nicht zuletzt bei der Strafverfolgung von NS-Tätern. Die \"Rosenburg“ in Bonn war von der Gründung der Bundesrepublik bis 1973 der Sitz des Bundesministeriums der Justiz. 2012 setzte das Ministerium eine Unabhängige Wissenschaftliche Kommission ein, die den Umgang der Behörde mit der NS-Vergangenheit in den Anfangsjahren der Bundesrepublik erforschen sollte. Zu diesem Zweck erhielt die Kommission uneingeschränkten Aktenzugang. Dieses Buch präsentiert ihre Ergebnisse. Zum \"Geist der Rosenburg“, so zeigt die Studie, trugen maßgeblich Beamte und Mitarbeiter bei, die zuvor im Reichsjustizministerium, bei Sondergerichten und als Wehrrichter tätig gewesen waren. Ihre Karrieren vor und nach 1945 zeichnet die Kommission ebenso nach wie die Belastungen, die dies für das Ministerium und den Inhalt seiner Politik darstellte. So wird unter anderem gezeigt, welche zentrale Rolle das Ministerium spielte, als 1968 Zehntausende von Strafverfahren gegen NS-Täter eingestellt wurden." ],
