  "abstract" : [ "\"Katrin Schneider hat unentdeckte Kleinode mit der Kamera festgehalten - Kinos auf dem Lande und in den kleinen Städten. Erstaunlich vielfältig zeigen sie sich in ihrer Architektur und von sehr unterschiedlicher Größe - oft prachtvoll innen, außen meist schlicht. Diese Kinos existieren an Orten, von denen kaum jemand je gehört hat, es sei denn, man wohnt in der Nähe. Es sind Häuser für den Film, meistens schon sehr alt, aus einem Tanzsaal, einer Gaststätte oder sogar einem Stall entstanden. Manchmal wurden sie von Wanderkinobetreibern gegründet, die sich damit sesshaft gemacht haben. Fast alle sind wie Großstadtkinos mit modernster Technik ausgestattet. Vielerorts bilden sie die fast einzige kulturelle Attraktion im Umkreis vieler Kilometer. Hochmotiviert und mit viel Leidenschaft gehen alle Betreiber ihrer Berufung nach - manche schon in der sechsten Generation. Andere sind kinoverliebte Quereinsteiger, hier und da wurde auch ein Verein zur Rettung des Kinos gegründet. Diese Welt der kleinen Fluchten existiert weitgehend unbeachtet außerhalb der Großstädte mit ihren gigantischen Glitzer-Palästen und gut versorgten Programmkinos. Dort, in der deutschen Provinz, finden sich noch viele cineastische Kleinode, nicht selten mit ehemals exquisiter und professioneller Ausstattung, manchmal halb versteckt in kleinstädtischen Industriebauten oder früheren Dorfscheunen, gelegentlich auch mit Improvisationstalent und filmischer Fantasie eingerichtet\" [Verlag]" ],
