  "abstract" : [ "Über 2.000 jüdische Friedhöfe in Deutschland bilden ein reiches kulturelles und religiöses Erbe. Die meisten dieser auf Ewigkeit angelegten Stätten haben die NS-Zeit überdauert. Sie sind heute oft die letzte sichtbare Erinnerung an die jüdische Geschichte eines Ortes und wichtige Bezugspunkte für das Gedenken an die Shoah sowie das Lernen über jüdische Geschichte, Kultur und Religion. Für die heutigen jüdischen Gemeinden sind sie sowohl Stätten der Erinnerung als auch des gegenwärtigen religiösen Lebens. Zugleich sind sie verletzliche Orte, die auch nach der NS-Zeit immer wieder Ziel antisemitischer Angriffe werden. Der Band beleuchtet das Spektrum an Themen und Aufgaben, die im Spannungsfeld von fortwährender Gefährdung, Gedenken und Vermittlungsarbeit an den Bestand der jüdischen Friedhöfe in Deutschland und Europa herangetragen werden.
