Daran erinnert auch die rheinische Redensart: \"Wat nix koss, es och nix.\" Die Übersetzung ins Hochdeutsche ist leicht gemacht. Es bedeutet: Was nichts kostet, das ist auch nichts. Heißt: Hat auch keinen Wert. Wer ein Sparfuchs ist, der wird sich gegen solcherart Sinnsprüche verwehren. Er glaubt vielmehr daran: \"von nix kütt nix\" (von nichts kommt nichts) und \"mer han et net vum ussjevve, sondern vum behale\". Die moderne Variante dieser Sätze ist sogar in einen Werbeslogan eingeflossen, und der lautete: \"Geiz ist geil.\" Diese Grundhaltung entspricht allerdings nicht dem Klischee des Rheinländers. Was hinter Paragraf 8 des rheinischen Grundgesetzes steckt, erklärt Jörg Manhold, Leiter des Regional-Ressorts beim General-Anzeiger, in Episode 28 von \"So geht Rheinisch\". Ein Rezept für \"Kölschen Kaviar\" gibt's obendrauf. Die moderne Variante dieser Sätze ist sogar in einen Werbeslogan eingeflossen, und der lautete: \"Geiz ist geil.\"" ],
