Obwohl die Heilungschancen für krebskranke Kinder Anfang der 80er Jahre enorm zugenommen hatten, waren die damaligen Räumlichkeiten der Kinderkrebsstation wenig geeignet, die notwendige Intensivmedizin zur Behandlung krebskranker Kinder durchzuführen. Der Förderkreis hat sich dafür eingesetzt, dass dies geändert wurde." ],
