Jahrhunderts gewirkt hat. Zentrale Elemente seiner Frömmigkeitstheologie sind die Abgrenzung zum Katholizismus, der Sozialdemokratie und der Liberalen Theologie. Der Kern seiner Vorstellung ist in dem Konzept von Kirchlichkeit zu suchen. Positiv wird Kirchlichkeit eine veräußerlichte Form der Frömmigkeit verstanden und mit den Begriffen Schrift und Bekenntnis konturiert. Gerade die Ausprägungen konservativer pastoraltheologischer Entwürfe sind noch kaum erforscht, haben sich aber in das kulturelle Gedächtnis von Kirche eingeschrieben. Die Verhältnisse im Kirchenkreis Paderborn sind für die evangelischen Gemeinden im 19. Jahrhundert insofern prekär, da sich die Gemeinden fast alle erst in Folge der preußischen Annektion des ehemaligen Fürstbistums Paderborn bildeten. Im Verhältnis zur katholischen Kirche bilden diese nur eine kleine Minderheit, die aber zugleich mit dem preußischen Protestantismus, der das Königreich getragen hat und im späteren Kaiserreich hegemonial wurde, identifiziert werden. Von diesem Blickwinkel lässt sich der Protestantismus im östlichen Westfalen auch als eine Form des Kolonialismus verstehen.", "eng: This doctoral thesis explores the constructions of identity of a Protestant minister in the eastern church district of Paderborn, who worked there in the second half of the 19th century. Key elements of his \"Fröömigkeitstheologie\" are the demarcation to Catholicism, the Social Democrats and the Liberal theology. The core of his idea is to look at the concept of religiosity. \"Kirchlichkeit\" in a positive way means a externalized form of piety and depends on the terms Scripture and Confession. The conditions in the church district Paderborn are difficult for the Protestant churches in the 19th century, as the communities almost all only formed as a result of the Prussian annexation of Paderborn. In relation to the Catholic Church, they form only a small minority, but that are also identified with the Prussian Protestantism, which has dominated the kingdom and in the later Empire was hegemonic.
