Die im Buch dargestellten Konzepte zur klinischen Kompetenzentwicklung dienen als Best-Practice-Beispiele bei der Entwicklung eigener Bildungsangebote an Hochschulen oder Berufsfachschulen. Mit der Einführung der Modellklausel in die Gesetze der Gesundheitsfachberufe werden seit dem Jahr 2010 an sieben Hochschulstandorten in Nordrhein-Westfalen gesundheitsbezogene Modellstudiengänge angeboten, die den europaweiten Professionalisierungs- und Akademisierungsentwicklungen der Gesundheitsfachberufe folgen. Diese Entwicklung ist ein bedeutsamer Schritt für die Berufsbefähigung auf tertiärer Bildungsebene und verlangt die Entwicklung und Umsetzung von Bildungskonzepten, die sowohl den Anforderungen der Pflege- und Therapiewissenschaften als auch denen der Berufsbefähigung gerecht werden. Das Buch zeigt, dass dabei die Bedarfe der beruflichen Praxis zur Förderung der Berufsbefähigung und das Selbstverständnis der Hochschulen als bildende Institution als gleichwertig zu beachten sind. Fragen zur strukturellen Gestaltung von Studiengängen für Gesundheitsfachberufe wurden in der Fachöffentlichkeit umfangreich, Fragen zur inhaltlichen Gestaltung entsprechender Bildungskonzepte jedoch nur bedingt thematisiert. Die klinisch-praktische Ausbildung ist eine Schlüsselstelle: Hochschulische und berufspraktische Ziele müssen für die Studierenden als kohärent erlebbar sein. Garanten hierfür sind eine entsprechende Kooperationskultur und didaktische Konzepte, die von allen Beteiligten als tragfähig angesehen werden." ],
