  "abstract" : [ "ger: Das Verhältnis der Wissenschaft zu ihrer gesellschaftlichen Umwelt beschäftigt nicht nur die Wissenschaftssoziologie seit geraumer Zeit. Während sich die öffentliche Debatte um das Bild einer im Elfenbeinturm isolierten Wissenschaft dreht, reichen die wissenschaftlichen Kontroversen von der klassischen Gegenüberstellung externalistischer oder internalistischer Perspektiven bis zu den jüngsten Kontroversen um die Frage, ob man heute von fortgesetzter Differenzierung oder nicht viel mehr von Entdifferenzierung sprechen müsste. Der offensichtlichen ‚Einbettung‘ der Wissenschaft in die Gesellschaft stehen Annahmen über ihre ‚Entfremdung‘ von der Gesellschaft gegenüber. Das vorliegende Working Paper skizziert ein Forschungsprogramm, welches sich diesem Grundproblem der Wissenschaftsforschung über den Begriff der Responsivität bzw. über die Idee einer responsiven Wissenschaft nähert. Ausgehend von gesellschaftlichen Großproblemen, die in der heutigen Wissenschaftspolitik eine zunehmend wichtige Rolle spielen, werden neue Möglichkeiten empirischer Forschung aufgezeigt, um die Frage der gesellschaftlichen Einbettung der Wissenschaft präziser zu formulieren und letztlich beantworten zu können. Aufschlussreich ist diese Perspektive, weil die sogenannten ‚Grand Challenges‘ quer stehen sowohl zu konkreten gesellschaftlichen Teilbereichen (wie Politik, Wirtschaft, Recht oder Wissenschaft) als auch zu den (im Folgenden noch zu spezifizierenden) Konstellationen, in denen Wissenschaft und Gesellschaft aufeinandertreffen. Eine wissenschaftssoziologische Perspektive, die gesellschaftlichen Problemen folgt, bekommt insofern die vielfältigen und heterogenen Schnittstellen zwischen Wissenschaft und Gesellschaft in ihrer Gesamtheit in den Blick." ],
